We are happy to schedule private tours for any size group.
All tours are private and by appointment only.
Due to a number of recent no call/no shows, we now require payment for visits when you reserve your spot.*
Please understand that this is a small farm. When you book a private tour, we hold that time for you --- and often have to turn away others who want to book that same time slot. So, when you don't let us know that you can't make it, you not only impact the farm's schedule, but you also prevent others from coming.
Please contact us to schedule your visit.
* *Payment will not be refunded without advanced cancellation notice.

Montrose Farms is pleased to offer a drop spindle class taught by Carole of Carole Makes.
Drop spindles, or hand spindles, have been around for 12,000 years since the Neolithic era of the Stone Age, when the first farming developments appeared. Drop spindles consist of a shaft with a hook on the end and a whorl, or cylinder, to help it spin while being suspended from the spinner’s hands.
Drop spindles and 4 oz. of carded alpaca fiber are included in the cost of the class and are yours to keep!
Time will be allotted to meet the alpacas whose fleece you’ll be spinning.
Class size is limited.
Please note: there are dogs, cats and other animals on the property.
*No public toilet facility available.
Montrose Farms is teaming up with The Purple Palette to offer a unique experience this summer: a “Paint a Paca” class on June 24, 2023, at 10 a.m.
Rachel Davis, owner of The Purple Palette, will guide the class in sketching and painting an image of one of Montrose Farms’ alpacas on an 11 x 14 canvas – right here on the grounds of the alpaca ranch! Davis, a graduate of the University of Indianapolis, has been painting since 1995. Her company offers painting parties for all occasions.
Choose from a selection of images or provide your own favorite photo of an alpaca or your pet when you register. The cost of $75 includes all art supplies.
Time will be allowed to meet the alpacas.
Please note: there are dogs, cats and other animals on the property.
*No public toilet facility available.
Montrose Farms is pleased to bring innovative and original events to the Indianapolis area and specifically designed this painting class for enthusiasts who love alpacas and want to create a unique, personal souvenir.

Montrose Farms is pleased to host Laughter Yoga with the Alpacas.
Laughter increases the levels of endorphins – the body’s natural painkillers – and decreases the body’s production of cortisol, a hormone released in times of stress that contributes to weight gain and memory loss.
Laughter Yoga, designed by Dr. Madan Kataria in 1995, incorporates playful group exercises with deep breathing to enhance wellness and joy. It eases anxiety and depression, awakens happiness and forges relationships.
Laughter Yoga class can help students release stress and tension, calm their minds, improve their health and provide an abundance of positive energy.
The one-hour class, which involves minimal stretching and much laughter, will take place on the farm, followed by a visit with the alpacas. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
Please note: there are dogs, cats and other animals on the property.
*No public toilet facility available.
Come join us for a class in soap felting. Students will learn to wet-felt carded fleece from the alpacas at Montrose Farms onto a bar of eco-friendly, paraben-free soap.
Felted soap produces luxurious lather while the fiber coating gently exfoliates the skin. Because it’s like having a washcloth wrapped around your soap, it eliminates the need for a bath sponge, washcloth or loofa. The fleece coating makes it easier to hold onto, so this is a great soap to use in the shower, or for children and people with arthritis.
The fiber also makes the soap last longer, and because alpaca fiber is naturally anti-microbial, the soap will stay fresh. Once the soap is gone, use the remaining fleece to scrub sinks, showers, baths or counters.
Popular with gardeners and mechanics, felted soap can be used in the shower, at the kitchen sink – anywhere you want a little something extra. The attractive soaps are conversation-starters in guest baths and make wonderful gifts.
This class is appropriate for almost any age and skill level. All materials will be provided.
Please note: there are dogs, cats and other animals on the property.
*No public toilet facility available.

Get a “Clue” – an unscripted, interactive murder mystery play on the farm.
Mean old farmer Horace Liddle-Pediddlewomper has been murdered.
See if you can solve the mystery by interrogating the suspects, each of whom had a motive, a weapon and an alibi. Was it Jolene, the jilted lover? Ed, her jealous husband? Alice, the disinherited daughter?
Meet a cast of characters and make your best guess as to “who dun it.” This is a little like the game of Clue, with each suspect in situ around the farm.
As you move from one area to the next, you’ll be introduced to the people in Horace’s life who had reason to kill him.
Your job is to figure out which one is the guilty party.
At this time, we require face coverings during sign-in. Masks are optional during the session. In order to comply with social distancing,
Thanks to all the FFA groups that came to tour during their National Convention. It was an honor and a pleasure to meet you and teach you a little bit about alpacas. Best wishes in all your endeavors --- and come back any time!
We are happy to schedule educational tours for FFA, Scout and school groups. Please contact us if interested.
Stayed tuned for the next Vegan Dessert Tasting event, designed to provide you with inspiration for cruelty-free sweets to make for your family and friends gatherings.
